My review of the Van Gogh exhibition in Chicago
Immersive Van Gogh exhibition opens in Chicago | Have a look inside!
I loved!! Even if you don't know much about Vincent Van Gogh or all his artworks, I think you will still enjoy the show. Put simply, it's a light show featuring some of Van Gogh's famous artworks set to music. The show lasts about 37 minutes until he starts repeating the songs. You may be wondering what is so special about a light show. Well, as the name of the program suggests, it's immersive. You are part of the art when the light moves, you see the art move when you stand on it.
The exhibition area takes place in three large rooms on one floor and a balcony on the second floor, allowing you to experience the show from a higher and larger perspective.
In my opinion this is oneperfect date night experience. I went with Charlie and we both enjoyed it and want to come back. We even recreated Emily's scene in Paris!
My Instagram followers asked if it was safe to go and yes Gogh is safe as social distancing circles guide you through the exhibition and full safety protocols are in place. Face masks are required.
There's even a cafeteria where you can grab a bite to eat before you leave. They have stroopwafels, Van Gogh inspired macarons, cookies and more! And of course there is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs if you want.
The Immersive Van Gogh Experience is taking place in Chicago from February 11th to September 6th, so I think I'll definitely be back before it leaves town. You can buy your ticketsHere.

Immersive Van Gogh exhibition thrives in Chicago
CHICAGO For weeks, Chicago's historic Germania building has been buzzing with activity as crews work feverishly to install the world's most popular digital art exhibit to date.
It's a massive undertaking as the team works to transform the iconic 19th-century building into a living journey into the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh.
"We've been in isolation for so long since last March, so it's wonderful to bring this incredible art exhibition and joy to Chicago residents," said co-producer Irina Shabshis.
Van Gogh's first immersive show took place in Paris in 2019 before selling out in Toronto. The shows, which open February 11 in Chicago, mark her first US debut.
Brandon Charlton is the mastermind behind the exhibits' technology, using 74 projectors, 14 miles of cable and a computer to immerse visitors in the colour, brushstrokes and imagination of the Dutch Post-Impressionist.
155 million pixels up there everyone is told what to do. "We tried to combine them to within an inch of their lives," Charlton said.
To ensure visitor safety, there will be timed entry for the hour-long tour, temperature checks and social distancing circles in all five galleries.
The 35-foot walls were bathed in color and light, immersing visitors in some of Van Gogh's most famous artworks, including Sunflowers and The Starry Night.
